Take a Walk Today

“And Enoch walked with God; and he was not; for God took him.”  Genesis 5:24

Enoch walked with God. That is quite the statement. He pleased God. Wow, what a compliment is that.

Many of us are walkers. Many of us who walk for exercise have “walking partners.” Sometimes for security, sometimes for fellowship, and sometimes just as friends.

So why did Enoch walk with God? Could it be because he enjoyed God’s presence? Even though the Bible does not give us a direct answer, it is safe to assume that Enoch and God enjoyed a mutual friendship.

Imagine taking a walk with God today. You  walk down a winding road, through a field of wildflowers, and then going into a forest. God, every once in awhile pauses to explain the marvels of a hummingbird, the flitting of a butterfly, the soaring eagle and the tree frog. Your conversation now goes into the deep mysteries of His creation. You talk about the wonders of His love. The fullness of His wisdom, and the perfection of His plan. You may even ask Him about this virus that is impacting the entire world. He then explains His grace and mercy.

Does this sound inviting to you? God wants to walk with each of us today and every day. Just as Jesus walked with the two disciples after His resurrection. He opened the Scriptures with them and their hearts burned within them as a result of their fellowship with Him.

A daily walk with Him will restore your weary soul and inspire your faith. Have you taken your walk with God today? I will be leaving shortly for my walk with Him. He would also love to join you in yours.
