Tim Hawman

Lead Pastor

Pastor Tim Hawman has been the lead pastor at Emmanuel since 2019. Prior to coming to Exeter, Pastor Tim served as a pastor in North Bay for 30 years.  He has been married for 36 years to his wife Lisa and they have two adult children, Ellie and Jordan. In his spare time, Tim loves to paint landscapes and hang out with his family. 

Mitch Hogeveen

Associate Pastor

Pastor Mitch Hogeveen has been leading youth and young adult ministries at Emmanuel since 2023. He and his wife, Elisabeth, are parents to four children: Gracie, Ezra, Owen, and Emma. He enjoys spending time outside with his family, from hiking to exploring small towns and going to the beach. 

Krystle Zielman

Administrative Assistant
Music Director

Krystle, a Huron County native, has attended Emmanuel since 2011 with her husband, Gerard, and their three children (Gavin, Grayson, and Josie). She enjoys outdoor activities like paddle boarding and going to the beach, as well as shopping, baking, and reading. Her favorite book of the Bible is Ruth.

Kelly Kinsman

Kids Club Director

Kelly has served in children's ministry since 2019. She is married to Luke and they have three children. Their family have attended Emmanuel since 2012. She enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing sports and games, as well as baking. 

James Brown

James is a primary care pharmacist. Since 2021, James and his wife, Helen, have attended Emmanuel with their daughter, Karyssa. James has been a member of the elder board since 2022. James spends his free time reading or enjoying water sports at the beach. 

Yet it was the will of the Lord to crush him; he has put him to grief; when his soul makes an offering for guilt, he shall see his offspring; he shall prolong his days; the will of the Lord shall prosper in his hand.- Isaiah 53:10

Richard Koudijs

Richard works as a high school tech teacher. He is married to Dawn and they have two children, Emma and Spencer. They have attended Emmanuel for many years where Richard has served on the elder board since 2026. His interests are designing and building things. 

As for me and my house we shall serve the Lord. Joshua 24:15

 

Steve Raterink

Steve works as an automotive mechanic. Steve is married to Aliesha, and together they have three children. A part of the Emmanuel community since 2021, Steve has served on the elder board since 2024. In his free time, he enjoys fixing cars and helping others navigate life. Steve deeply admires the Old Testament figure, David.

Shawn Walker

Shawn is the financial planner and director of operations for a parachurch organization, Prepared to Answer. He is married to Adriana and they have four children: Caleb, Megan, Natalie and Brett. Shawn and his family have been part of Emmanuel since 2003, during which time he has served as both an elder and treasurer. Shawn is an avid cyclist whose favorite Bible book is Ecclesiastes, and he holds John 3:30 as his favorite verse.

Gerard Zielman

Gerard works as a manager at a high precision mold shop. He is married to Krystle and they have three children: Gavin, Grayson and Josie. Their family have attended Emmanuel since 2011 where Gerard has served as an elder since 2026. 

Many are the plans in a person’s heart, but it is the Lord’s purpose that prevails. Provers 19:21

Lina Hilberg & Ella Fleps

Born and raised in Germany, Lina and Ella are post- secondary students serving at Emmanuel for the duration of August 2025-July 2026. Lina has 3 older sisters and her favourite kind of icecream is cookie dough. Ella is an only child and she enjoys playing piano and photography.
