Think About This...

How much bad news have you watched and thought about this past week? Does it stress you out? Make you worried, scared, mad? If I may, I'd like to give you some good news to think about, something certain to set your sights on, especially coming out of Easter Weekend. Actually, they're not my words at all, they're Pauls, speaking on behalf of God. He says "since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honour at God's right hand. Think about about the things of heaven, not the things of earth. For you have died to this life, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God" (Colossians 3:1-3). Wow. Now that is good news. That is something worth thinking about and setting our sights on this week. You have new resurrected life in Christ! It's real life, spiritual life, and it's hidden with Christ who is right-now sitting in the place of honour, in heaven, ruling over all creation. Trust Him this week, not the circumstances around you. Trust Him this week, not your feelings. Think about your future with Him in heaven, for it's certain and secure. And persevere now with hope, for "when Christ, who is your life, is revealed to the whole world, you will share in all his glory" (Colossians 3:4). Yup, you read that right. We will share in his glory. That's our future and it's glorious! So endure and thrive in the 'here and now' while you wait. Don't let this pandemic steal your joy and render you useless for God's kingdom. Now, more than ever, we need to rise up and shout the good news of Jesus to the world. We are not defeated, we are alive in Christ! So don't be lazy this week, be intentional. "And whatever you do or say, do it as a representative of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks through him to God the Father" (Colossians 3:17).
