Walking in the Spirit

“I say then; walk in the Spirit and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.” Galatians 5:16.

Do you think that life becomes easy after you are saved? I seem to have more struggles than I ever had before that time. This probably is normal because now I want to do what is right and good as before I just drifted through life. Once we are saved we begin a journey towards eternity. The journey will be tough, even treacherous, but O so good.

Paul tells us in the book of Galatians, “To walk in the Spirit” That is the direction for a Christian. Walk forward with Jesus and not drift back to our old ways of living. We must take the yoke of Jesus and walk in His Spirit. Walking implies that our life has direction. We are climbing new heights and that may mean struggling to get there.

Every day we struggle with sin such as jealousy, lust and pride etc. We live in a world that is full of these things. But by walking in the Spirit we can rise above these temptations in our lives. It is not easy and it requires us to be in a fight every day. Do not compromise and live up to only your standards. Consider Jesus’ example and follow Him. Do not settle for doing the best you can.

Paul tells us that will not work. That is why the Father and Son sent the Spirit to us. We must let the Holy Sprit to do the best He can and that means victory. He will do the best for you. You will be victorious. Walk in the Spirit.
