Elder News and Update August 2022

We pray that this summer has been a time of rest.  We are so grateful for a Lord and Saviour that has perfectly modeled the need and design for rest in our lives.  While the summer is often a time of rest, our church family still has had many activities and ministries in motion.  We wanted to provide an update to some of those ministries and ask that you continue to pray for them and pray for how you can join in on how the Lord is working in the South Huron area.

Church Planting         

Cornerstone continues to meet this summer outdoors.  Continue to pray for Aaron and the team as they continue to make inroads in the Hensall area.  Pray that they can continue to build relationships with their neighbours through Sunday morning services, the kids camp from July and various small group studies they are holding.  Praise God for how He is moving in the Hensall area.

Please also continue to pray for Josh and Monica as they seek the Lord’s direction in a possible local church plant.

Carpet

As I write this blog the carpet is being installed!  We are excited to get this in before the fall ministry season.  Please pray about how you can support our building by giving to the carpet fund.

Youth

Mitch and Elisabeth continue both Junior and Senior high activities this summer. From scavenger hunts, games nights, book studies and pool parties the youth have been able to come together to enjoy one another and dig deep into God’s truths through His word.

Kids Ministry

Please continue to pray for Lori and Kelly as they begin to look to the fall programming after two very successful day camps in Exeter and Hensall in July.

Elder’s News

The Elders are pleased to announce that James Brown has been voted by the board to join until our next members meeting.  At that time James will be voted on to officially join the board.

 Fall Activities 

As we look to the fall, we will be launching adult education series on biblical sexuality and an in-depth study of the Psalms of lament.  Mission 50, prayer concerts, and other ministries will again begin, and we look forward to having you join and serve.  This coming ministry year will have us as a church family strive to know the Lord better, to grow together, so that we will be able to go into South Huron and the world to proclaim the Good News.
