Humble Yourselves in the Sight of the Lord

“He has told you O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.”
Micah 6:8. NIV

A look at Psalm 37 leads me to conclude that it’s more important to be truly humble before God than to do great things for Him. Consider how this Psalm expresses humbling ourselves.

“ Trust in the Lord”
“ Do good.”
“ Dwell in the land.”
“ Cultivate faithfulness.”
“ Delight yourself in the Lord.”
“ Commit your ways to the Lord.”
“ Be still before the Lord.”
“ Trust also in Him.”
“ He will do it. He will bring forth...”
“ Rest in the Lord.”
“ Wait patiently for Him.”
“ Refrain from anger and turn from wrath.”
“ Do not fret.”
“ But the humble will inherit the earth.”
“ Better the little that the righteous have.”
“ Steps...are established by the Lord.”
“...the Lord is the One who holds his hand.”
“ Depart from evil and do good.”
“ The love of his God is in his heart.”
“ Wait for the Lord and keep His way.”
“....they take refugee in Him.”

Walk humbly with your God.

🙏  Father God, may I walk humbly with You. You desire justice and mercy. May I be Your ambassador today. Wash me and make me white as snow. In Jesus’ name I pray.

Amen
